Green STEM Girls Program
Columbus, Ohio
The Arabidopsis Biological Resource Center (ABRC) and the Center for Applied Plant Sciences (CAPS) are proud to partner with the Franklin Park Conservatory (FPC) for the second year of Green STEM Girls. FPC’s Green STEM Girls program engages students at the Columbus City Preparatory School for Girls in activities and experiences focused on women in STEM, science, sustainability and the arts.
Five staff, faculty and graduate students from ABRC, CAPS and the Translational Plant Sciences (TPS) Graduate Program will facilitate a program at the school during the 2019-2020 school year. Each program will include a career talk followed by hands-on plant science activities. In addition, Green STEM Girls students will visit The Ohio State University for a tour of ABRC’s laboratories and growth facilities.
