Description:
Erysimum cheiranthoides (wormseed wallflower) variety Elbtalaue (ETA) is an isolate collected in the Elbe River floodplain (Elbtalaue) in Lenzen, Germany. The submitted ABRC seed stock was inbred for eight generations in a greenhouse at the Boyce Thompson Institute (Ithaca, NY, USA). The genome was sequenced after the sixth generation of inbreeding. Seeds have been stored successfully for longer than 2 years at 4C, but long-term viability is unknown.
Growth Requirement: self-pollinating annual; cold stratification increases the germination rate but is not absolutely necessary; grows well in growth chamber or greenhouse conditions; no special treatment is required to induce flowering; generation time is about 10 weeks
